In its debut on the growing range of low-cost camera / DVR hybrids is the EKEN V002, EKEN’s V002, together with a veer of other siblings, are gradually but surely finding their way into the warm hands of the public. Our brethren we at Merimobiles managed to get hands on V002 and naturally, it also took us the chance to photograph it up and share with our patient readers.
The two-faced contrivance houses a handheld design with a two 2.4-inch (LTPS, TFT, LCD) to monitor the action, and inside, you’ll find an 8-megapixel CMOS sensor, SDHC storage that supports cards up to 2GB in size, mini USB port connectivity with PC compatibility; Windows98/me/XP/vista/7MacOS/Linux. What’s more there’s a TV out with included AV cable, a voice recorder, and an MP3 player too. Apart from snapping stills, this unit also records VGA movies that is, 1280*720 pixels @ 30 fps 720*480 pixels @ 30 fps 640*480 pixels @ 30 fps (AVI) while we can’t envisage them of actually being of any real use, an 8x digital zoom including “digital image stabilization” are all the same included: Its rechargeable 600mAh lithium battery that could last up to two hours. EKEN’s V002 Mini Car DVR is of course likely to take home image quality awards, but its $73.80 asking at Merimobiles could be another added backup you could boast of. More pics to follow…
