Ployer launches 7-inch Android 2.3 into the tablet wars (update: hands-on impressions!)

Another allwinner’s new love, Ployer, is also playing the tablet game. And as the Christmas holidays draws closer, this outfit should give all tech enthusiasts a pause – and especially those who were considering that missed Android tablet discounted on Black Friday. All flippant aside, the flagship 7-incher is certainly quite interesting, flouncing a dual-core Cortex A8, 1.2 GHz processor, a native 800*480 screen resolution, an HDMI output and Flash 10.3. It also accompanies a 1.3 megapixel front camera, “3D” games supported (APK Apps) and full multitouch support. Of course, very difficult to tell how much clams it’ll cost ya, right? Thanks to Merimobiles, we just nabbed it (asking $119.99). More impressions after the break.
A brushed white plastic finish takes up 100% of the device’s back with one speaker opening on the lower end. Just below the speakers, on the tablet’s edge, you’ll find micro-USB port, mic, SIM and microSD card slots neatly placed with an easy reach. The MOMO9’s 3200mAh lithium battery, though, not accessible, shouldn’t be a problem since it can last you 4-5 hours running time. At the lower end of the device’s front, you’ll find physical menu buttons (home, back, search), with 3.5mm headphone jack and power button sitting at the top the Ployer ‘s upper right perimeter. The aforementioned 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera sits just right in the middle of the screen’s upper bezel.
Ployer’s dual-core Cortex A8 processor is running at 1.2 GHz under the hood and 512MB DDR put this tablet at the core of elan and alacrity. Navigation at the homescreen feels swift and responsive enough for the most part. Of course, you won’t miss those moments when the tablet fails to notice your touch and the bit of lag at play. The display’s accelerometer, luckily, doesn’t fall victim to oversensitivity. True, you’ll notice some delay for the orientation to toggle around from landscape to portrait, nonetheless we truly appreciated the holdup here. Oh, by the way, you’ll also be getting 802.11b/g WiFi and a pair of mini-USB sockets (naturally you’ll gain access to Android Market too). Then, we want you to look at its price tag again!
